About Your Therapist
I am a fully qualified (B.A (Dist.)); DSM, DAM, DDTM, DOSM, DIHM, DTHFM, DPM), experienced and insured Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).
I undertook my professional Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology; Swedish Massage and On-Site/Chair Acupressure qualifications in 2010, before going on to complete further Diploma's in Advanced and Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Indian Head Massage and Thai Hand & Foot Massage as well as obtaining professional practitioner qualifications in beauty facials, eyelash & eyebrow treatments. I currently work as a Mobile Massage Therapist on a full time basis and am the proprietor of Wow! Massage Therapy.
Prior to becoming a Massage Therapist, I worked in the professional care sector for a number of years after completion of my university degree. I have experience of working with the elderly, those with special needs, children and young people, those with mental health issues and individuals following hospital discharge. I have been able to transfer a number of the skills I learned during this time to my work as a therapist, which has enabled me to work appropriately and respectfully with a wide range of people.
Since qualifying in Massage Therapy, I have always worked on a mobile basis. I am aware that for a number reasons e.g. health factors, painful conditions, hours of work etc; many individuals cannot attend clinics or are available during a clinics set opening hours. As a mobile service, I aim to provide the solution to these type of problems. I have also found that a number of my clients simply prefer to be treated in their own surroundings. Difficulties around parking availability at central locations, leaving clinics/salons looking dishevelled / covered in oil, feeling a bit achy / sleepy following massage and just wanting to sit down comfortably & relax, have all been cited as reasons by clients for preferring a mobile therapy service.
I accept referrals from individuals, G.P's and other health professionals including osteopaths and chiropractors. My clients range from individuals seeking a pampering experience to those requiring remedial intervention for a specific complaint. I work with children through to my most elderly client being in her 90's.
